This film is a documentary rolled by Paolo Cavara, Gualtiero Jacopetti, Franco Prosperi.
The movie had a huge international success and was nominated for the Oscar in 1963 for the theme “Ti guarderò nel cuore” (in English “More”) from the soundtrack of Nino Oliviero and Ritz Ortolani.

Mondo Cane is considered the forerunner of the cinematographic genre of sensationalists documentaries, named “mondo movies”. Their aim was to impress the public, showing exotic cultures and costumes, extravagant and grotesque images of a variety of ethnic groups from every corner of the world.
